This spider was seen in a big web in a bush on Clarendon and Montrose of chicago. It was just strange to see a spider like that was thinking it could be a garden spider.
Most possibly it is a garden spider. You can look up an image and you’ll be able to tell. But if the body and legs are black, the stripes on the abodomen are yellow/green, and the web has a small area where there is more webbing and it looks like a name is stitched in it, then it more than likely is a garden spider. There’s a legend about the garden spider’s web, too. It’s a bit extreme, but the legend is that whatever name is written in its web is the name of the next person to die….grotesque but I didn’t make it up…..
