LifeStorage, chicago self storage provider for home and business, records management and office solutions, is holding a Garage Sale event and Move-In Special at the Mokena location on October 14th and 15th from 10 am to 2 pm. The Garage Sale was requested by current Mokena customers after noticing similar events at many of the 17 Chicagoland LifeStorage locations. Store Managers Kelly Butt and Corey Tolbert were happy to oblige their existing customers and hope the addition of the Move-In Special will create new business.
“Many of our customers have an overflow of items and were looking to do a little fall cleaning. After they read LifeStorage blog and saw some of our sister locations holding garage sales, we received multiple requests to hold our own. We have such supportive customers, we were happy to. It’s a chance for renters to sell any items they don’t want or need anymore and for shoppers to find some good deals,” said Kelly Butt, LifeStorage Mokena Store Manager.
The Move-In Special is a two-day only event coinciding with the Garage Sale, where 10×10 climate-controlled units are available at a flat rate of $ 22 for the month of October. The following month is rent-free, and come December, the rental fees return to normal. For new customers, it’s the perfect time for last-minute storage for the coming winter, or one less excuse to put off cleaning out the basement and garage.
“The Move-In Special is our way of introducing LifeStorage’s affordable, top-of-the-line storage solutions to a new audience. The price is pretty hard to beat, and all of us at LifeStorage Mokena feel it will be a success,” Tolbert said.
For LifeStorage-Mokena, this is its inaugural event since become a LifeStorage in April of this year. If the Garage Sale event is as successful as planned, it could become an annual occurrence, something that Butt is excited about.

Toni is thrilled and says: “I think that I will be processing my Lean Eating journey for a long time to come. Throughout my life I have drifted towards a healthy lifestyle and then back away from it.”

Coach Sell calls the mental shift he experienced “phenomenal.” He says he is not dieting. “My relationship with food has changed. This is the way I am choosing to live my life.”
Coach Sell says the biggest change has been mental. “I have always been told that it’s OK to be big. I was an offensive lineman so being a big guy was an essential part of the job. I am not that same guy anymore. I want to be lean and fit for the rest of my life.”
Coach Sell thanked his own Lean Eating Coach, Jay Bonn, for helping him identify and overcome underlying eating issues. “What I learned is that there will be ups and downs along the way. This is a marathon, not a sprint. Lasting change takes time, I did not get fat overnight so my journey to the lean and fit body that I will have will not occur overnight as well.”

Chicago real estate executive Anthony Rossi, Sr. has been selected as a recipient of the prestigious Lester Patrick Trophy, an award presented annually by the National Hockey League(NHL) to honor outstanding service to ice hockey in the United States.
The trophy, first awarded in 1966, is named after Lester Patrick, a legendary developer of ice hockey who had a lifelong history with the NHL as New York Rangers player, coach and general manager.
Chicago real estate executive Rossi, Sr., president of RMK Management Corp. and M & R Development, is being recognized for nearly 50 years of volunteer service to USA Hockey. He began his volunteer career in the 1970s and was later elected to the USA Hockey Board of Directors. In 1995, Rossi, Sr. was elected to the USA Hockey Executive Committee, and currently serves as vice president and international council chair for USA Hockey and as a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation Council. Rossi, Sr. is also credited with helping form the USA Hockey Foundation, a non-profit that provides financial support for USA Hockey.
“Tony has had an enormously positive impact on hockey in the United States and is most deserving of being honored with the Lester Patrick Trophy,” said Dave Ogrean, executive director of USA Hockey. “He genuinely cares about the advancement of the game and has graciously given of his time over the past 40-plus years to help make our sport better.”
“Hockey has been such an important part of my life for so many years, so to have my name among the NHL legends who have received this award is truly incredible,” said Rossi, Sr.
Past recipients include NHL greats Bobby Hull, Wayne Gretzky and Mario Lemieux. The other individuals being honored this year include former player and coach Mark Johnson, former coach and assistant to the commissioner of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association, Jeff Sauer, and Bob Pulford, Hockey Hall of Famer and coach and executive for the Chicago Blackhawks for the past 30 years.
The Lester Patrick Award celebration to honor the 2011 recipients will take place October 26th at the RiverCentre in St. Paul, Minn.
