  • Rodrigo y Gabriela, and Robert Trujillo, at Riviera Theatre Chicago October 16, 2009 Orion

Posted by admin on April 21st, 2010 and filed under Chicago | 25 Comments »

Surprise guest, Robert Trujillo of Metallica, was definitely one of the highlights of this phenomenal show. There was a little hiccup at 1:18 that provided some comedy and also allowed these professionals the opportunity to show the audience how to get back on track and finish strong. Robert Trujillo is an incredible bass player who has seamlessly fit-in with Metallica while replacing Jason Newsted and the late, great Cliff Burton.

@cktrenzor será muy humilde, pero su estilo es muy Nü, y como ke eso no encaja en las rolas buenas de metallica, tal vez en las del death magnetic, load… pero su version de for whom, no me agrada

it would be so awesome if rodrigo y gabriela did a cd with rob. this type of music is so different than what i usually listen to, but i started listening to rod. y gab. from the first song i heard by them.

they’re so talented and awesome and stand alone as only 2 members, but just the sound with rob’s bass was purely amazing.

    22. PERROMALDO Says:

I sooo agree…. Cliff would be claping hands during the whole performance…. Amazing

    23. TheMadRobb Says:

I think it sounds better in standard tuning here especially cliffs solo than tuned down 1/2 step like metallica now plays it. RIP Cliff and keep rockin Rob.

    24. Disciple1000 Says:

Rob is a really cool guy. I used to see him in Dogtown in the mid 80′s just hanging out by the beach. He was in Suicidal then.
